Privacy Policy
EKUBO, INC. (the “Company”) is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users. Our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.
For purposes of this Agreement, “Site” refers to the Company’s website, which can be accessed at ekubo.org and any subdomains.
“Service” refers to the Company’s services accessed via the Site, in which users can trade tokens and manage liquidity positions on the Ekubo Protocol, among other features.
The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Company.
“You” refers to you, as a user of our Site or our Service.
This Privacy Policy explains our collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information; it does not itself constitute your consent to processing. Your use of the Site and Service is also subject to our Terms of Use (https://ekubo.org/terms-of-use.html).
IINFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.” Non-Personal Information means information that does not relate to an identified or identifiable individual and cannot reasonably be linked to an individual, alone or together with other available information. Demographic, platform, preference and click information qualifies only when it meets this standard. Personal Information includes blockchain account addresses, such as Starknet or Ethereum account addresses, and position identifiers, whether you submit them to us through the wallet connection process at the Site or they appear in the addresses (URLs) of pages you visit on the Site, and it can include usage, device and referring-page information associated with those records, as described below. The Site is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under 18.
1Information collected via Technology
Visiting the Site can involve processing Personal Information even if you do not connect a wallet, as described below. Connecting a wallet exposes your blockchain account address, which is processed as described in Sections I.2 and III. We do not use a third-party error-monitoring service, and the application does not send reports about errors it encounters in your browser to us or to any third party.
The application does not set cookies; it stores your preferences in your browser’s local storage on your device. Cloudflare Web Analytics receives page paths that may contain blockchain addresses and position identifiers, together with usage/device and referring-page information, to measure interface usage and performance. These records may relate to identifiable individuals. Cloudflare states that it retains unsampled analytics data for seven days, after which it reduces the data to a sample of around 10%; analytics data remains available to query for approximately six months. We have not confirmed when Cloudflare deletes all copies, including backups. You may direct privacy requests concerning these records to support@ekubo.org, as described in Section IV. Some Site pages include a blockchain address or position identifier in their path (for example, a page showing a particular position), so this can occur whether or not you connect a wallet. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies, but that does not make these records anonymous.
Separately, Cloudflare hosts the Site and protects it from malicious traffic. To do so it processes the technical information that accompanies each request, such as your IP address, the address of the page requested, and browser and device information. This hosting and security processing is separate from the analytics described above. Cloudflare may also set strictly necessary cookies to protect the Site from malicious traffic. Please notify us if any other cookies are found to be set on your device accidentally, at eng@ekubo.org.
2Information you provide us by connecting a wallet
In addition to the information provided automatically by your browser when you visit the Site, to use the Service you will need to connect your wallet, which exposes your blockchain account address. By connecting your wallet, you are authorizing us to process and use your address in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Blockchain addresses can also reach us without a wallet connection, when they appear in the address of a page you visit, as described in Section I.1.
WalletConnect and Reown
If you choose WalletConnect to connect your wallet, the interface uses third-party WalletConnect connection services and Reown AppKit, including its QR-code connection window. When these services initialize, your browser contacts their infrastructure to check project limits and establish the wallet connection through WalletConnect’s relay. Reown AppKit also sends analytics events when it initializes and when a connection succeeds. These requests can occur before you finish connecting your wallet.
The analytics information includes the full URL of the page you are viewing (including any query parameters, which may contain a transaction recipient’s blockchain address), the Site hostname, the blockchain network, our WalletConnect project identifier, and your connected wallet address when available. The services also receive your IP address and technical connection information when your browser contacts them. These services support wallet connectivity and collect information about use of the connection interface. We have disabled WalletConnect core telemetry, but this does not disable AppKit’s initialization and successful-connection analytics, which the current integration does not allow us to turn off. The interface loads this integration when you use WalletConnect, rather than for visitors who never use it. You can avoid this integration by not using WalletConnect; other wallet connection methods may be available.
WalletConnect and Reown are third-party service providers. Their processing, retention of information, international transfers, and available privacy choices are described in the Reown Privacy Policy and the WalletConnect Privacy and Cookies Notice. Information sent to these providers is not necessarily anonymous: wallet addresses and page URLs may identify you or link your activity. For questions or requests concerning Ekubo’s processing, contact support@ekubo.org.
IIHOW WE USE AND SHARE INFORMATION
Personal Information:
Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information with third parties without your consent. We do share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for the Company, such as Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the Site and provides the web analytics described in Section I.1. The processing described here includes information handled by service providers in delivering the Site and Service, as further described in Sections I.1, I.2 and III. The WalletConnect and Reown services described in Section I.2 also process information under their own privacy notices; we do not represent that all of their processing occurs solely at our direction.
In particular, it is important to distinguish the following types of processing and records; additional processing needed to provide the Service is described in Section III:
- Hosting and security processing. Cloudflare processes request information, such as IP address, the page requested, and browser and device information, to deliver the Site and protect it from malicious traffic. This processing continues.
- Analytics records. Cloudflare Web Analytics receives records that include page paths that may contain blockchain addresses and position identifiers, together with usage/device and referring-page information, to measure interface usage and performance. These records may relate to identifiable individuals.
- WalletConnect and Reown processing. When you use WalletConnect, its connection services and Reown AppKit receive connection information and AppKit analytics information, as described in Section I.2. This can include the full page URL and any query parameters, the Site hostname, blockchain network, our WalletConnect project identifier, your connected wallet address when available, and your IP address and technical connection information. Requests can occur before you finish connecting. These records are not necessarily anonymous.
- Public blockchain records. Transactions and positions you create are recorded on public blockchains. We do not control those blockchains and cannot alter or delete their on-chain records. This does not mean that we or our service providers hold no related information or copies, or limit requests concerning information held by us or our service providers.
Layerswap
When you select a Layerswap route, Ekubo sends the source and destination networks, token identifiers, transfer amount and, when available, source and recipient blockchain addresses to Layerswap to obtain a quote. When you initiate the transfer, we also send your source, recipient and refund addresses, slippage setting and a transaction reference identifier to create the transfer. Layerswap receives and processes this information to quote, execute and track the transfer and handle refunds; where a route includes a swap, Layerswap executes it through downstream swap providers, currently 0x and Uniswap. These records can link your activity and addresses across networks and are not necessarily anonymous. Layerswap's Privacy Policy describes its processing, retention and international transfers. Contact support@ekubo.org about Ekubo's processing and use the contact details in Layerswap's policy for its processing; this does not limit your rights concerning Ekubo.
We use Personal Information to provide and protect the Site and Service as described in this Privacy Policy. If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your questions, provide technical support and handle privacy requests. We do not use the analytics records described in Section I.1 for advertising, wallet profiling or growth targeting.
We may share Personal Information with outside parties if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable legal process or enforceable governmental request; to enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations; address fraud, security or technical concerns; or to protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
Non-Personal Information In general, we use Non-Personal Information to help us improve the Service and customize the user experience. We also aggregate Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze use patterns on the Site. The analytics records described in Section I.1 are not Non-Personal Information for this purpose. This Privacy Policy does not limit in any way our use or disclosure of Non-Personal Information and we reserve the right to use and disclose such Non-Personal Information to our partners, advertisers and other third parties at our discretion.
In the event we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Information may be among the assets transferred. You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of our assets may continue to process your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If our information practices change at any time in the future, we will post the policy changes to the Site so that you may opt out of the new information practices. We suggest that you check the Site periodically if you are concerned about how your information is used.
IIIHOW WE PROTECT INFORMATION
We implement security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. The Service does not use accounts or passwords; you access it by connecting a self-custodial wallet. The interface uses your connected wallet address in your browser, and includes it in requests to our API and to the blockchain, quoting and routing services needed to show your balances and positions and to prepare transactions. Information about your use of the Site is also processed by Cloudflare for hosting and security and, as described in Section I.1, is received by Cloudflare Web Analytics. If you use WalletConnect, information is also sent to WalletConnect and Reown as described in Section I.2. These providers may retain information they receive; their privacy notices describe their processing and retention practices. We urge you to take steps to keep your wallet credentials safe and to disconnect your wallet after each use. We further protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology. However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
IVYOUR RIGHTS REGARDING THE USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not contact you for marketing purposes. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include so that we can respond and handle your request. Information relating to you may be held by us or by our service providers on our behalf, including Cloudflare’s hosting and security processing and the analytics records described in Section I.1. You may direct any access, deletion or other privacy request, including a request about records held by our service providers, to support@ekubo.org. We cannot alter or delete records on public blockchains, but you may make privacy requests concerning related information or copies held by us or our service providers. Be wary of any communications that appear to come from Ekubo, Inc. You may also direct requests concerning information held by WalletConnect or Reown to the relevant provider using the contact details in its privacy notice; this does not limit any rights you have regarding Ekubo’s own processing.
VLINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
As part of the Service, we may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through the Site and the Service. Therefore, this Privacy Policy does not apply to your use of a third party website accessed by selecting a link on our Site or via our Service. To the extent that you access or use the Service through or on another website or application, then the privacy policy of that other website or application will apply to your access or use of that site or application. We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of other websites before proceeding to use them.
VICHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
The Company reserves the right to change this policy and our Terms of Service at any time.
We will notify you of significant changes to our Privacy Policy by placing a prominent notice on our Site. Significant changes take effect when the updated Privacy Policy is published on the Site and apply only from that time forward, except where applicable law requires us to give you advance notice or obtain your consent before a change applies to you; in those cases, we will do so. Non-material changes or clarifications will take effect immediately. You should periodically check the Site and this privacy page for updates.
